The 2008-2009 Honors Fellows
The ISI Honors Program is a highly selective year-long mentoring fellowship for fifty of the nation’s most promising undergraduates.
“The Honors Program has literally been one of the most important intellectual events of my life. I came away from the summer conference with a good sense of the direction I want to go academically and personally.” —ISI Honors Fellow, Yale University
Honors Fellows are assigned an Academic Mentor who guides them through reading projects, and advises on intellectual questions and career options. Fellows explore the West’s intellectual tradition at a week-long, all-expenses-paid summer conference, at weekend colloquia, and through an online listserv.
“I can honestly say that rarely in my life have I been able to witness such an accumulation of intellectual distinction. Even in the social time, I partook in some of the most fascinating conversations of my life.” —ISI Honors Fellow, Harvard University
Fellows receive an array of ISI publications, including American Conservatism: An Encyclopedia and Modern Age, and are notified of employment, fellowship, and internship opportunities.
“The ISI Honors Program was a truly incredible experience. I was exposed to a whole range of ideas that I had little previous contact with. I am very glad to be a part of the ISI community and look forward to growing in it during the course of the year.” —ISI Honors Fellow, The Catholic University of America
Read a review of the Honors Program by Mark Meador (2006-07) and an interview with Jordan Hylden (2004-05).
